Default SFC for a convertible?

Which subframes do you all recommend for a 98 convertible....any from BMR...I don't want to spend too much on them...but this car will see minimal track use and some street racing whenever called out....I mainly want them to make the car a little sturdier and help it with squeeks ...I recently added the BMR stb and it helped it out alot!......oh and I heard that convertibles come with factory SFC but they aren't to good.....also should I look into getting SFC that are strictly for convertibles?.....reason is I went into alot of sites and some sell SFC strictly for convertibles...............your input is very appreciated.............thanx!!

Convertibles do have "sub frame connectors" but they are not really the same thing that you or I would consider SFC's. It's basically a doubled up floor pan. You can see them if you crawl under the car but they really aren't that noticeable since they just look like the floorpan. They also aren't very sturdy.

In order to fit under your car correctly, they have to be the SFC's made for convertibles...the ones made for coupes won't fit. That is why we are limited to only a handful of choices. I have the Kenny Brown's and while they are expensive, they are solid and worth the money. BMR also makes them and one or two other companies, Global West perhaps?? SLP is going to be coming out with their bolt on version pretty soon if you want to wait. All the others are weld on. BMR's are the cheapest even though they are very well made.

Beefiest - Kenny Brown
Best bang for the buck - BMR
Only bolt on available - SLP (when they come out)

I've been very happy with the KBDD's. They've been on for two years in April. Pics in sig.

Check out the convertible forums on ls1.com and chripthird.com You'll find some more input there.

Thanx guys I'll probably go with the BMR SFC since I'm kind of low on cash and its the best bang for the buck then most definitely I'll stick with those......

I ordered the KBDD after a little research. This style ties the chassis together much better than the other styles. They are more, but, the cost of realiging windows, doors, new weatherstripping, etc far out weighs the price. I put my car on jackstands once and it was REALLY obvious the chassis needs help. I don't know about you but I hate whistling windows! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

I have the BMR's should have been the first thing I did, they were around $160 or so if I remember right.
