Guys I feel like I am driving a school bus, what can I do? I just want it to bounce around less and handle a little better. It is a 99' Z28 only suspension/chasis mods are hotchkis STB, KB DD SFC, Bilstiens(on back only right now, I am waiting on the fronts from Strano <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> since Dec). What can I get to keep me from bouncing around like a school bus. Are my suspension parts just worn out? BTW I have a stereo system in the back so it is a little heavier back there. I want it too feel planted to the ground better. TIA

Too hard to say, from what you described could just be the normal ride of the car. It is a stiffly sprung solid rear axle performance car not a caddilac. The mods you did would only further stiffen the car so i don't know what your expectations are?

When you say "bouncing around like a school bus," do you mean the feeling you get when you ride on the very back seat (go airborn over bumps)?
If so, your springs and shocks are just too stiff for the road conditions. When you hit a bump, instead of the springs compressing and allowing the tires to stay in contact with the road, the car will "skip" and bonce into the air. The only cure for that is to put softer springs. You will get a "better ride" but you will suffer in the corners. With my coilovers, I must be careful not to give power over ruts in the road as the rear will bounce due to the super stiff setup.

Springs will influence ride stiffness (or lack there of) to a degree. But, shocks have the most impact on ride (with my koni's on full stiff, you take a beating, with them on full soft, it just "wallows" around....bus like). A stiffer shock will make an improvement. You will see less bounce, but it will be a little stiffer. I find it to be a worth while trade. I'd get your front shocks on there (after they arrive....) and start with that and just kinda work from there. Good luck!

If those are stock front shocks, I bet that's your problem. They're either worn out or just can't keep up with the rears.
You've seen those slammed mini-trucks with the bad suspensions bouncing down the road? It feels like that, right?
My front KYB's are toast and it feels just like that. Even slightly wavey pavement and it feels like it's bouncing from front to back.

That’s your problem. The rear is stiffer than the front so the suspension is not in tune.
When I installed my coilovers, I put the rears on first (easiest) and then went for a drive.......it was horrible....I got that...sea sick feeling...the car would not respond....I thought something had been messed up. I went home, installed the fronts to see if that help. It solved the problem. A few days later I called LG and during the conversation, I mentioned my experience. They told me that with only one end installed, the suspension was out of balance. The front responds one way (soft) while the rear responds another (hard), they don't balance.
