Re: Different rear tires A lower speed rated tire would have a higher likely of a blow out at high speeds if there was a great enough difference. For example if you had two Z 149 +mph rated tires and two S 112 mph rated tires and were doing 130 mph I would say you stand a great chance of breaking a belt in the S rated tires or even worse having it blow out on you. Most low speed rated tire are missing the nylon webbing that ultra high performance tire have. The nylon is the to shield the steel belts from the heat that is generated from the tire meeting the road surface and it there to prevent the tires from ballooning at high speeds.
