Default How to tighten Castle nut that holds spindle onto lower A-Arm?

When I try and tighten the castle nut (still needs many more threads to go), the bolt is spinning freely.. What do I do to keep the bolt from moving?

The nut is on top of a tapered stud. You need to "set" the stud in the spindle and then tighten it. You can put the nut on top of the threads and GENTLY!!! tap a tie rod seperator in there to pull the stud in snug. (I've seen guys hit the spindle with a hammer and a block of wood, this potentially can damage the ball joint). A spinning stud is a possible sign that the balljoint is worn out and may need replaced. When they are new, they usually won't spin....Good Luck!

Just to clarify, use the balljoint tool between the nut and spindle to pull the stud up into the spindle....good luck.
