brake problem??

brake problem?? for the past few days i have noticed a really really wird metal on metal sound almost when i turn the car left or right and SOMETIMES straight. its coming from driverside wheel i THINK. i had a friend stand by the car and he says it sounds like its coming from the brakes. tonight while driving home from work, just driving without tapping the brakes, i started hearing the most hideous screeching. it sounded like a rock had come wedged between my pad and the disc. whats odd is, it didnt drop in tone when i slowed down, but i dunno if it would or not. my buddy seems to think its sticky pads or something along those lines, i am leaning twoards that beeing the problem, and praying its not bushings or something, because to be quite honest, i have no idea what a bushing is does, or looks like....anywhois it possible my brake on that side just has alot of buildup and is sticking to the disc?? please someone tell me this is the problem. I dont feel like spending mad cash to fix something. or even worse doing it myself(no time to do it with the military exersice going on in my squadron).
Anyhelp is appreciated. I noticed that the disc from that brake does looks kinda cruddy and dirty unlike the other discs. no idea

My guess is the pad is worn down. They have these little metal tabs that rub the rotor when the pads wear too far. It makes a noise like screeching.
If yo udon't have time to take it on yourself, take it to Midas or somewhere else that does a free inspection. Then, if it is something minor, do it yourself!

ah cool, i figgured it was something minor, but ide wrather play it safe than sorry. plus thefact im going TDY for 4 months and will heavily rely on my car as transportation, the last thing i need is a major issue. but seems simple enough...
