Default which Rotors & Pads???

i need the rears now and have been debating cutting them ($30-$40) & throwing on some auto-zone $27 pads... but i dont want to do that & just upgrade in a month or so...

i have Powerslots in the front w. Hawk pads

should i do the same for the rear?
& should i get the "dipled" & slotted rotors?

just regular replacement rotors and pads for the rear. one issue with fbodies is that the rear has a bit too much brake bias so using a less aggressive rear pad is OK.

Hawk pads such as HPS, ok. Powerslots, no need to waste more money. Quality blanks should suffice.

Nope. Marketing gimmick and driveway jewely (Why reduce the friction surface area and heat sinking ability of the rotor when there are practically no pads on the market that outgas beyond the initial bed-in? Many argue about unsprung weight and rotational mass savings, but the amount of weight lost from the holes, slots, dimples, j-hooks, etc. are negligible. Also, you'll create uneven and premature wear on your pads). Again, quality blank will more than suffice.

Call Sam Strano. I ordered mine through him back in May and they have worked great plus they were cheaper than what another retailer was trying to push. PBR Metal masters up front & Hawk HPS pads in the rear with Brembo blanks.

Blanks are still the best for actual stopping performance. Slots, drilled or dimpled used to be there to help expell gas created from the pad. But that was 10yrs ago, and pads today don't make so much gas as to create a buffer between pad and rotor. They do look nice, and if you want looks as much as performance, then get some drilled/slotted. If you really want pure performance, Brembo blanks are all you need. Somewhere on this site is a picture of an all out racecar Lamborgini Murcilago, used in I think Speed World Challenge. No expense spared, full blown $300k+ racecar, and it had blank rotors.

Great observation, however it isn't in WC GT, but rather the FIA GT, one of several series that have their top point holders compete in the ACO's 24 hrs. of Le Mans.

For the brembo blanks try tirerack.com. I installed duralast rotors and hawk HPS pads and noticed quite a difference, now I have to do the rears.
