LOW TRAC Light...
This has been going on for a few weeks in the car, I probably drive it every other day.
My LOW TRAC light comes on every time I come to a stop except for the first few stops of the day... so that makes me think that it's something heating up and then causing the problem. When I am at about 10-15 mph and coming to a stop the LOW TRAC light comes on and the ABS activates. The car comes to a stop straight. I do not have any problems when applying the brakes at faster speeds.
I have only had the ABS INOP light come on once, and at that point the low trac light didn't come on anymore and the ABS did not activate anymore.
Yesterday when it was raining outside a somewhat cooler I did not have any problems for about 10 miles (city.. so many stops). I'm thinking that the water/evaporation must have kept some part of my braking system cooler but it could have been co-incidence.
The problem came back this morning in dry conditions. My rotors aren't grooved or really discolored and my pads look fine front and rear. I do have a leak in my rear seal but my fluid level is fine and it doesnt smell burnt etc..
Should I be checking the front wheel sensor and cleaning that off or should I check the ABS sensor(s)... or does this seem like my pads or rotors are bad? This is a 97 LT1..
