Default Suspension Experts Please Help

Just finished w/ 9 inch install. I have UMI adj lca's. Spohn adj TA and PHR, and Spohn anti roll bar. Pinion is at -2 degrees and the only change from the 10 bolt is the anti roll bar and 4.11's. Took it out for the first time today and got some mad wheel hop in second. Never got that with the 10 bolt - WTF?

I do have weld on LCA brackets that are not installed yet. If anyone knows how to stop this let me know... Thanks

try adjusting your pinion angle, that may have something to do with it, buddy with a 9 inch down the street had the same thing, his pinion angle was -4 we reset it to -1 and problem solved the relo brackets will help too

I'd also inspect the rear end closely to ensure that the LCA bracket and spring purches are in the right place. If one or more of those is positioned incorrectly on the new rear, that may also cause the issue.

I assume the wheel hop was under accel, not braking correct?

94Z28L - Thanks again. I thought the pinion angle was -2, which I didn't think would be enough to cause this much hop. Upon further inspection - it was at -5, way too much. Reset it to -1.5. Just got back from a little test run - straight and hard with no hop...

Jason. I don't have the relocation brackets on yet but the LCA brackets and spring purches "appear" to be in the right position. Yep - hard acceleration and hard shift into 2nd is when it happened.

Thanks Again,
Chuck

Spohn recommends -1 for mildly modified vehicles. They say best results are achieved with -2 to -3 on high hp cars. The suspension needs to be preloaded a little so that when the tires bite, and the rear end rotates the angle does actually get close to 0. Not a great idea tho to daily drive a car at -2... I thought I had mine at -2 when I took it out the first time - must've dicked it up tho... Not the first time I got something wrong

lol wrather, sorry, that made me chuckle. i guess that could be an abreviation for would rather. Anyways, how hard was the 9 inch install? I plan on either doing that myself or having a shop do it, depending on how hard it is?

Yep, typing skills suck - hunt and peck without even looking at the screen.

As far as the install - It was no problem. I bought mine from someone on tech so it had the backing plates on it and the axles in. Heavier than an S.O.B and I did alone, with a floor jack, and exceptional balance. lol. It was just take out the old and bolt in the new. I have had r&r'd a lot of 10 bolts tho. My son has a third gen... He's on his 3rd 10 bolt.
