I'm going to buy Spohn's crossmember mounted torque arm soon. I was wondering if the extra $115 is worth spending for the chrome moly version.

I remember seeing a reply by Ryan@Umi Performance. I think he said that there was only a 2 lb. difference between the mild and chrome moly adjustable torque arm.

From Spohn's tech deptartment: "The 4130 is about 4# lighter. The main advantage is that it's twice the strength."
I'm not spending $115 extra just to save 4lbs. And I don't think the extra strength is necessary for my application, since it's not going to be a single digit race car. So, it's an easy choice then.

You are correct that the main difference is strength. I was the original one that asked Ryan @ UMI what the weight difference was in theirs, and he said weight wasn't the point, strength was.
I ended up ordering the Chromeolly version anyway, but if you aren't worried about a few lbs save your $.

Hello,
Yes correct, the weight is very minimal. We only get a 2lbs savings so I do not know how others are getting 4lbs.. but oh well. The main advantage is the strength when it comes to that item. In most cases the Chrome Moly is over kill for alot of applications. If the vehicle is not a strict high horse power drag car you will be fine with the mild steel version.
Here our options for anyone interested-

If anyone has any questions I am gald to help, thanks![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
