Default Will C6 Z06 vette brakes work on an f-body?

Well the brakes on my car suck, plain and simple. I rode in a C6 Z06 the other day and the brakes were just amazing. Wondering if their brakes would be a direct bolt up to my car and if they'll work correctly? Someone fill me in here please. Thanks

Using a trackbrackets or UMI C5 conversion kit, you can put the front C6 Z06 brakes on an F-body (but you'll need wheels to clear them).

18's come on the new Z06, but I don't know if you'll need any special wheels to clear them. The customer I had that did the swap used the C6 Z06 wheels too, so it all fit perfectly. But, yes, it will need an 18", I just don't know if you can use any 18" (not sure how far those calipers stick out).

You will need to check the clearance on your wheels from the outer edge of the caliper to the inner edge of the spokes of your wheel. You will need at least 1/10" more cleanace than you now have. The C6 ZO6 brake kit will cost about $1400 with out installation. Figure 2-3 hrs installation time.

I mocked these C6 ZO6 brakes up on a F-Body knuckle with trackbird brackets and took some measurements to verify wheel spoke clearance. Here are the pics that I took. They show the diameter and caliper housing size that you need to check clearance behind your wheels for. You will need at least 45mm from the hub surface to the back of your spokes but the radius from the center where that clearance is needed is between 4.5" and 8" for the caliper housing. That would be between a 9" and 16" diameter section of the 18" wheel. So if your spokes angle back inward to create a dished wheel, you might crash into the caliper.

Hell, you are local, we can meet up and you can test fit your wheel on my mock-up knuckle to check fitment if you want. It is just serving as eye candy on my workbench until I get new wheels/tires. PM me if you are interested.
