Default stupid question

What torque spec for brake lines? To the caliper with the little washers. I found all the other torque specs for brakes except that one! I'm really stupid today for some reason. The weather lol.

thanks

Not stupid at all. That is a legit concern ...

My method?

Snug them and bleed the brakes.

Spray the caliper down with brake cleaner and let it dry. Pump up thre brake pedal again, without opening the bleeder screw, and check for leaks.

If it leaks, give it a tick more tight. and then repeat till it stops leaking.

The caliper is just cast aluminum. Don't over tighten the banjo bolt.

A little more........a little more.........a little more STOP lol.

I just bought new calipers and lines everything. When I went to take the bleeder screw out, it stripped the **** out the threads in the calipers.

Thanks Mitch

Here's what Hayne's repair manual says:
- Front brake hose-to-caliper banjo bolt: 30 to 32 ft-lbs
- Rear brake hose-to-caliper banjo bolt: 22 ft-lbs
