Default Spring Install...

Any things to look out for changing the springs? Do you need a spring compressor for them?...New shocks?...Any tips would be appreciated. We are doing it on a 99WS6 Thanks

You need the right kind of spring compressor. Check this.

I'd say, get the assemblies off the front and trot
them down to a Discount Tire type place that
sells shocks. They'll press them on & off for cheap
enough. The rears, need hand tools and jackstands
only.

I watched the mechanic at the dealership change
mine off for Hotchkiss and even with good equipment
he sweated for it.

Given the effort, yes, do the front shocks at the
time. Pick something you'll want to stay with and
will last. Of course that ain't cheap.

You will definitely need the ball joint separator tool. When I did mine, my car is relatively new, and had to bust it loose. They are also part of the tool loaner program from Advance. Having another person to help is almost a must, especially if you use the spring compressor tool. I would do the shocks also. I actually had my shocks 2 mos before my springs arrived, but I waited and repl them all at the same time. Have fun!
