The relocation kits get the torque arm off the tail of the transmission so you won't break off tail shafts in high HP applications with a hard launch.

The stock torque arm is a stamped piece of metal that I've seen fail on a car with only 300HP.

The relocation kits are typically added to an aftermarket torque arm.

Most people replacing their torque arms today go with one that mounts to the tunnel of the car instead of the transmission.

Only real reason to mount to the transmission instead of the body is to reduce vibrations.

Many torque arms are adjustable, and include a driveshaft loop so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.

Relocation kits take it off the trans as stated. They also allow you to run a longer arm which is better for road racing. The shorter body mounted TA's are better for drag applications. Depends on what you want to do.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread. but i'm currently running the 10-bolt. I want to purchase a chrome-moly UMI torque arm but I don't know which one to get. I have the TSP true Duals, I know one of them is made to clear the duals better. also I plan on doing a 9" at one point.

Hello,

Here is the torque arm for the TSP True Duals- www.umiperformance.com/2205.aspx

This torque arm we work on both the factory 10-Bolt and a 9" rear end.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thank you!
Ryan
