Default What kind of shocks for a DD?

Ive been searchin, but cant find much about daily drivers. Most of the threads are for drag or autox racing. I have a 2000 z28 that I drive everyday. I have no plan on racing of any kind. I want to get the eibach prokit. I was wondering if i shoud go with bilstein or konis. I knew the konis are the best ones. But wouldnt I be overdoin it since Im not racing at all. Also, i would be gettin a good deal on the bilsteins. Im not really sure, opinions would be trully appreciated.

Konis will provide the best ride even if you don't use them to their fullest potential. Ofcourse, Bilstiens will also provide a good ride as long as you have them re-valved to ensure proper set up when using the eibach springs. If you don't revalve them, they'll be a bit harsh on the ride and they'll wear out faster.

Skip the prokit and the harsh ride that goes along with them, get some Bilsteins and be happy driving every day.

I've been in two Pro-kit equipped cars, and neither rode harsh. Maybe it's just me...

Either way, your best options are Konis (most expensive) or some revalved Bilsteins. Either way, I'd call up Sam Strano and tell him what you are doing. He will not steer you wrong.

If you really want to lower your car, then check into Sam's lowering springs. He used no more spring rate than necessary when engineering them to preserve ride quality. But I'm assuming you want the best ride quality possible for your DD. Maybe you don't care.

i kind of care about ride quality, but im more concerned with the springs that look the lowest. I read that sportlines are no good, so i didnt even consider them. and that prokits have the lowest drops that still has good ride quality.

My buddy has a Koni/prokit setup. I have to admit it looks good. The ride is a little stiff for my tastes. But he doesn't DD his car.

When I had the prokit I would not say it was a real harsh ride at all. It didn't ride like a Caddy but I didn't expect it to.

I have the SA Koni's. It has been the best mod for my car. When I used my car as a DD they were fine, I had them adjusted so they were a little stiff but still pretty good for a DD. Plus they have a lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong. I don't have much experiance with the Bilsteins so I can't comment on them.
