Help! Tunnel Brace :-(
I installed Spohn's Torque arm and Tunnel brace today and lost MASSIVE ground clearance. I can't even back out of my driveway without scraping.
What should i do? Hammer on it?

since I have the UMI 3 Point's I was just thinking of having a straight bar bolted on instead of the Spohn one, seems that with the extra 1/2" of the SFC's mounting plates, the curve isn't needed much any longer :o

guys i cant just take it off. the torque arm mounts there
EDIT- tomorrow im heading up to school to use the lift. i think im going to place the tunnel brace under the SFCs so i can get an extra 1/2", then i might hammer on it a bit.

Getting them under the SFC's will help. Maybe Spohn can sell you their cross member that doesn't have the relief for long tubes, w/o the torque arm. The one you have is specifically designed for long tubes that interfere. Maybe keeping the one pictured below under the SFC connection will still have enough clearance for the exhaust without bottoming out.

I had the same problem with BMR driveshaft loop. Its also made for exhaust and I run true duals. I called BMR and thats the only kind they make..........
I went with a Lakewood unit instead.
Your probably not going to get much better than where your at without cutting and fabbing a new mount.
I sure wish they would sell this stuff without that damn exhaust dip.

Call Spohn. You never know, unless you ask. One of the most expensive parts of the suspension is the joints and shackles. The cross member might not be that much.
Or, Maybe someone on the For Sale section will trade you because they have exhaust clearance issues and they want the one you have.

i sent them an email and am awaiting a response. after some driving, it only bugs me when backing out of the driveway. i haven't hit anything or bottomed out. i hit the bumpstops before the brace hits the ground, so its all good.

I don't want to start a manufacturer-quality argument, but I would like to see pictures of the ground clearance after installing a UMI tunnel-mounted adj. tq. arm with the bracing on it ... was going to order one but after seeing this i'm kinda scared.

Call up Spohn and order a Straight brace instead of that dropped brace, I had the dropped brace on my car for a summer and my car is at stock height and I was hitting, dragging, and sparking everywhere I went, screw that, get it off the get a straight brace!!! You'll be happy!!!

I have a umi TA and my car is lowered with G2 springs which are a decent 1.75" drop. And i rarely hit my cross member on the ground. But if your spohn crossmember is anywhere near the quality and size of my umi one, i think there designed to be able to handle some scrapes.

I recently had to swap the crossmember to go the other way. (installed LTs)
Now I have a strait one sitting around unused.
Spohn charged be $149 for the new crossmember and loop.
You probably won't be able to bend it much, those suckers are tough.
Which is exactly what you want in a component like that.
If you you didn't damage it, you can probably sell it to someone who made the same mistake I did.
