Default Special tools to remove front shocks?

Just like what the title says. Rear shocks seem pretty simple, but don't know much about the fronts since they have the springs in them. Any help i would appreciate.

About the most special thing you will need is a spring compressor and then basic hand tools.

And cross your fingers, pray to whom ever you worship that your retainer nut is not rusted out and locked onto the shock shaft. One of mine was perfect, the other one loked like it had been in the ocean for a decade and I had to cut the nut off in order to remove the upper mount from the shock.

Pretty sure that the spring compressor can be rented. I think. Thanks for the info.
