I played with my "G-Tech Pro" (old style) some and if
you null it properly, it's a fairly accurate piece. I have
also built a 2-axis accelerometer which outputs +/- 2g
as voltages for fore/aft and lateral acceleration, that
I log with my HPTuners MPVI EIO cable. I like that
better and haven't used the G-Tech since.

I think your main inaccuracy will be the error of any
body roll, adding gravity*sin(roll angle) into the
measured acceleration.

Other than that kind of thing, silicon accelerometers
seem to be very accurate. Datasheets usually claim
sub-% measurement accuracies. If you turn it on
its side and it says 1.00g, call it sub-% for the box
and just make sure you have the nulling and the
orientation dead right.

I have one of the original gtechs, but have not used it for lateral g forces. However, I have a lot of experience with accelerometers (working for the Navy on guidance systems) and they tend to be fairly accurate.
However, unless you have upgraded your tires/suspension I would question such a high reading. I suggest insuring that you have calibrated it correctly prior to running your tests.
If you have upgraded your suspension/tires, that reading is not totally unreasonable.
