IMHO yes. And 170-ish isn't the end of the world, but it's stiffer than most cars (including my own) need. And anything beyond that is just more and more overkill which results in less and less tire and axle compliance.

The springs are $269 shipped. Shocks are around $22 or so to ship to NJ, and since I don't know exactly which shocks you are thinking of (since the prices are all different)....
Revalved Bilstein's: $530/set
Koni "4/3": $725/set (until 3/1 when they'll be $740)
Koni "4/4": $828/set (until 3/1 when they'll be $848)
