Default Manual Rack and Pinion

Does anyone here have the manual rack and pinion for their cars? If so how much tougher is it to turn than when you had the stock rack and pinion and do you like it?

I hear on full size tires (not skinnies) its pretty tough and might get old fast if you drive it a lot on the street.

I don't have PS. But I run skinnies all the time and the car only gets driven about 5k a year.
Its a PITA but you get used to it. I would not do it on a daily driver. Depends on how hardcore you are though.
