Default Lowering a car without shocks?

I have a 99 ws-6 and have been thinking about lowering my car for some time now. I dont want to spend big money on lowering it, but was wondering if I could you the eibach pro kit without getting aftermarket shocks? Can I get away from shocks with a 1.5 inch drop with just pro kit springs? let me know guys

Thanks for the input!

You can but the car will ride and handle very poorly.

Bullshit, My car has the Eibach pro kit springs with stock shocks and it's a night and day difference. Your car will handle better, look better and ride firmer. My ride quality is still smooth but firm, what you want from a sports car and it handles like a racing Go-cart. New shocks would help but they aren't the worst type in the World like everyone on here says they are. I can tell you this from experience, I autocross my car and live in the mountains of East Tennessee so I drive switch back curved roads daily. Buy the springs and try them, I promise you won't regret it, then buy shocks later on when you have the extra money.

I had stock shocks/stock springs, bilstein HD shocks/stock springs and Koni SA shocks/Strano lowering springs. The good shocks make the most difference in terms of handling AND ride quality. If you just want the looks, then the stock shocks will work.

BTW the Bilsteins are much better than the stock shocks, but the valving is a little soft on the front for my taste, and the rear stock shocks are crap...way too soft on the rebound...made me seasick. The fronts stockers were similiar to the Bilstein HD's

I guess it's a matter of perspective. The stock shocks are complete garbage from the start, with the springs they are intended to work with. No way in hell would I condone stock shocks on lowering springs unless the car is only about looks. Then again, there are those that drive around without front swaybars and so one and claim it's just fine. How can you argue? Especially when most of those folks have never had anything better to compare with?

Bottom line, you'll never find anyone who has changed to a better shock to have regretted it, springs or not. You will find plenty of people claiming what they have is the cat's ***, having nothing to compare to.
