Default rotor install ?

i just installed new rotors and my pads are rubbing. is there something i missed like resetting the pads or something. i just pulled the two bolts holding the caliper, pulled the caliper and reassembled with the new parts.

When you say rubbing, do you mean they are touching the rotor with no stopping force? That's normal.

Did you clean and regrease the caliper pins though? Sometimes they get seized in some peoples' cars if ignored.

The reason why the pads are rubbing, you have to push them all the way back inside the caliper w/ a clamp. I just did my brakes (pads/rotors/brake fluid).

You didn't need to open the bleeder valve, but since you did, you now need to bleed the system.

i made sure not to let any air in, also kept presure on the clamps, and only let out about 10 drops.

Who told you to do that? That's a first time I've heard of having to touch the bleeder just to clamp down the pads. That's weird.

Its very important to OPEN THE BLEEDER WHEN PUSHING THE CALIPER PISTON BACK IN. If you dont open it, you push old, dirty fluid back into your brake system. This is a BIG no,no for your ABS!!!!

And after doing so, there is no need to bleed the system. Just open the bleeder press the pad (piston) back in and close the bleeder while the clamp is still on the old pad.

But he wasn't changing his fluid. He was just changing the rotors.
