Default what would cause torque arm to snap

i have a bmr non adjustable torque arm, well i noticed today that it has some cracks out by the mount on the rearend. just wondering how this happens? too much pressure applied to it? is there anything i can do to prevent it from happening again? any way to fix it without buying a whole new one?

Could be caused by the fasteners being loose...

Are they actual cracks in the torque arm itself or surface cracks in the powdercoat?

I had the same thing happen to my BMR, from what I hear it is common on Moser 12 bolts with any torque arm. The bolts loosen up or back out and the part that bolts to the TA snaps off. Not fun!

i had one break due to the bolts backing out when i had a 12 bolt in the car, and then another I broke with shear torque launching on ET Drags. The bracket that bolts the torque arm to the rear end broke when it came loose, and the the torque arm itself snapped the second time.

my guess is it was just overpowered when mine snapped, UMI replaced free of charge, even being as it was on a 12 bolt bc it was obvious that it wanst bc the bolts backed out.

If the car is lowered, look for damage where the upper bar passes the rear seat belt plate.
Maybe a Random bar? have seen alot of them in the 9's. It's adjustable, too.

WS6 store has excellent customer service! So is this problem mostly just with 12 bolts?

Yes, the moser 12 bolts because of the attatchment design. They like to use 4 bolts, 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Factory and strange uses 2 bolts that goes all the way through.
