Default BMR Torque Arm Relocation Mount

Right now I have a BMR adjustable chrome moly torque arm mounted to the tranny. Have not made my first pass at the track yet and I was just a little worried about breaking some parts with this set up. Is this pretty much a no brainer or do you guys highly recommend relocating it with the BMR cross member relocation bracket. I have around 430 RWHP/380 TQ and I am going to be using MT drag radials.

I think you will be ok. It's the the M6's that are really hard on the tranny's.

I think you should be fine with an auto...

When the torque arm is relocated from the tranny to the cross member or chassis, I heard the ride quality is terrible. Is this true?

Also, for an M6, the relocation of the torque arm to the chassis or cross member would cause way less strain on the tranny mount. Is this correct?

Relocating the TA mount off the transmission tail shaft is always a good thing. I run one of BMRs TH400 conversion crossmembers with TA relocation. I did not notice a difference in ride quality or any extra harshness.
My car is obnoxious and loud so I may just not notice it.
I highly reccomend one of these crossmembers.

I bought the UMI relocation kit also for a piece of mind and I rather not have the TA connected to my tranny. I dont see why it would cause the ride to be more harsh.

I have a BMR adj. TA. and relocation mount. I seem to get a little more vibration but nothing major. I'm also a m6 car and I run about -4 degrees pinion angle.

I use to have a spohn torque arm and i would scrape everywhere since my car is lowered. So i bought umi torque arm relocation mount and bmr torque arm and i have same clearance as stock. I really recommend it if you are worried about clearance issues.

I have the BMR Torque Arm Relocation Mount on my M6 - the installation of the new cross member was easy, the only difficult part of the install was to attach the front part of the TA onto the relocation mount - clearance to get a hand or wrench in there tighten the nuts to hold the TA to the mount was tight but do-able.

Well was it worth it? How did it ride? Did your car launch better?

The car rode the same prior to the install. It launches better since I also installed a adj TA to replace the OEM piece along with the relocation mount. Also I eliminated the problem of breaking my transmission tailshaft since the new TA is attached directly to the relocation mount, not the transmission itself.

I will have mine installed on 5/9/07. I got the UMI one for mine. I already had the Trans tail housing break on a dyno run. What a mess!! I think it will be a good mod to get it off the Trans. I will let you know how it goes and if it gives any issues on ride. I am for now keeping the stock TA though. But who knows I may just get one in the future.

OK so the TA relocation crossmember ALSO eliminates the problem of breaking the tranny mount, right????

Havnt installed mine yet but I heard you cant go wrong with it seems like most people love it. If you get alot of vibration I say you have issue in the drive train to address like pinion angle or drive shaft that needs balanced.

What kind of transmission mounts are you using?
This is just what I think, I have no basis in fact for what I am about to say.
I believe the TA relocation would help with the broken tranny mount issue as you would not have the extra stress of the TA trying to lift the trans off the mount.
Just seems logical to me.
