I've had my GC coilovers for a few years now, got them from Sam Strano...

I'm VERY happy with the setup, and obvously the Koni's add to my happiness.

Having the GC coilover setup with inferior shocks would be a waste.

hey, not to jack the thread, but...when you order GC coilovers, do the springs you get drop the height of the car? I want the coilovers so that I can adjust my ride height for clearance of my STS kit.

Do the springs they come with (i know you specify spring rates) automatically lower the car even if the perch is moved all the way up the sleeve? I guess what I'm asking is, with the springs they supply, can I still have the stock ride height and adjust from there.....OR will the max ride height I can get be lower than the original stock height?

I just want to be able to start at stock and adjust down to a comfortable height for clearance.

Thanks!

I have two friends that have it and love it to death. I believe they advertize 2" of travel you can adjust the ride height within. I've heard you can go further though.

yeah but is that:
0 to 2 inches lower
0 to 2 inches higher
or
0 to 2 inches in both directions?

You can go higher or lower than the stock ride height setting. It's around four inches of total adjustability. If you use Koni SA front shocks the two different perch settings give you another half-inch of drop. The front springs are Eibach ERS series 2" ID linear rate race springs. I forget who manufactures the rear springs, but the rear adjustment collars are good for two to three inches of adjustment.

Sounds like your rear springs are too tall. The springs included in the kit should be at least 3-4 inches shorter than the stock springs; check and see which ones you have. On Koni front shocks the upper "hat" where the adjuster is has to be taken off the shock rod for the sleeves to be installed. I've heard of people grinding the hat down, but I'd rather not damage my nice new shocks.

Are you using stock springs? I'm not sure, but from what i've read, you have to use shorter than stock springs for the rear.

If the search is working, look around for instructions for the homeade tool.

Search is down. I'll try to get a picture of the wrench I used posted tomorrow.

I love mine as well, awesome kit. I ditched the prokit for it.

WS6store.com has the best price by far. I'm running mine with Bilsteins, totall night and day difference, especially on the back.

One of my favorite mods. My buddy with an 02SS got one after seing mine, loves his too. Amazing adjustability.
