Got Konis? 4/3 or 4/4's. Gimme your Feedback!
Well, my revalves still wont arrive for a long time so I've been doing research on Koni SA's and Im stuck between 4/3's and 4/4's. I know the differences and all but I just wanted to see what everyone else is running out there.
Please Vote on which ones you currently own.
Also, give me your feedback on them and what your settings are dialed in on, both front and rear. I know everyone is different and prefers their ride qualities a certain way.
Im just trying to decide for myself if I really need the easy adjustabilty of the rears on 4/4's to justify the price tag, or If Im better off going with the 4/3's and really only adjusting them once. Afterall, you would have to take apart the rear of the car to adjust on the 4/3's. The car has a system in the trunk, 315's and only sees about 3k miles a year so Im a little torn over this whole 4/3 4/4 stuff. Also I have been talking to the all mighty suspension guru Sam Strano but ulitimately Its my choice.
Please Give me your feedback on these, besides "Its the best mod I ever did"
Thanks Everyone!

I actually have the Double Adjustable in the rear, and Single up front. I find myself messing with the rear shock settings quite a bit, so having the easy behind the seat adjustability is well worth the extra few dollars over the 3rd gen shock. I have my fronts set at six sweeps from full hard (rebound only) and the rears set at full soft compression, one complete turn from full soft rebound. Rides great, especially considering my springs are double the stock spring rate (600 front/150 rear, up from 300 f/75 r stock). It's also the best handling car I've owned to date (4 Camaros, 1 Corvette).
Oh, and it's the best mod I ever did.

I love the adjustability of the 4/4 setup as well. I don't have the front adjusted really right now. They're both "somewhere in the middle" since I went to the dragstrip a few weeks ago. The rears though, with my stock springs, one full turn from soft was too stiff, and now I have them maxed out on soft and now they're a bit soft and bouncy. I'm thinking somewhere around 1/2 turn from full soft would work well with stock springs.
I haven't spent much time with it because I was waiting to dial everything in until my Strano springs arrived, which are now here, so they'll be getting installed next weekend I believe.
Like you said though, everyone is different, and every car is set up different (swaybars, springs, alignment, tires, tire pressures, etc.).

I've got the 4/4 set, 6 1/2 sweeps from full soft on front and full soft on the rears. I was in the same boat as you, trying to decide whether the 4/3's or the 4/4's were for me. In the end, I decided I didn't want to have to remove the shock in order to adjust it, so I got the 4/4 set. I'm also waiting for my Strano springs to arrive in a couple days and I'll be installing them this weekend as well.

front 3 1/2 sweeps from full soft and I'm going to move it probably another full turn from soft real soon. As it gets warmer and the tops are always off it seems like I need them to be harder. In the winter I had them at 1 sweep from the softest.
I'm also seriously considering getting double adjustables for the front if I get springs. I considered it before but I wanted to use the lower perch on the SA's to drop it sonme but the DA's don't have it. If I get the springs I won't need the lower perch to drop the sled.
The rear seems perfect to me.

I'm running 4/4's; fronts full stiff on rebound and full soft on bump and rears about 3/4 full stiff rebound and full soft bump. I need the shocks revalved to better match my 650f/300r spring rates, though.
The bump was easy to determine for me, but I'm not very good at feeling changes in rebound and specifically a good change. If I were to do it over and only used the car on the street (not autox or road racing) then I'd just get Sam's revalved Bilsteins and call it done. But if you like to tinker with things (with the equal chance you may make things worse than better), the ease of adjustability on the rear 4's is a plus.

I only got the rear ones, for now until I decide which spring I want but I just got them this week and I decided to pay a little more and get the 4th gen and I set mine at full soft with my stock spring, and now my bird rides like a caddie.

Go with the 4/4 setup. I have mine at 5 1/2 sweeps from soft in the front and 1/2 turn in the rear and it rides nice. It really does help being able to adjust them right from the back seat.

I have 99 SS with gen 4 SA on front and gen 3 SA on rear. I autocross and run at + 9 (out of 12) on the front and setting #2 (out of 4) on rear. Car has ST 35 mm front bar and 1LE 21 mm bar on rear. Running the stock SS springs, 1LE lower control arms and Panhard bar, and 1LE bushing on the lower front A arms. The car corners almost flat and is very hard to upset in a sloam. I don't use as a daily driver so street ride comfort is not an issue. On the way to the events is is a little harsh over tar stips and bumps. I have run it with the fronts on 2 and the rears at #1 and it is much better on the street and still handles very well.

Why buy adjustable shocks if you will never adjust them? I honestly would never take my rear shocks off and bother to adjust them. That's why I bought the 4/4s it's nice folding the rear seat down and adjusting them in a few minutes to see what setting I like the best. I think it was worth the money.

this may be a dumb question but I on the 4/4 or 3/4 is the front adjustable. I swear I got the 4/4 and I have never adjusted my fronts. I actually just forgot about it until this thread. I ordered them when I was deployed and through them on my car with a bunch of other things really fast and just forgot. I have adjusted the rears a lot and I like that feature but I would like to try the front now. I have a rubber nipple sticky though the fender, do I need to just take them off and then I will be able to adjust them? All four are yellow if that matters.
