Is it just the single Rebound Adj. that makes them so desirable, or is it their own proprietary design?
And also, why are 4-way Adj. shock (Motron; Penske) almost $6K for a set? Does each extra level of adj cost that much more to make?

I have no answer for you. Koni happens to be Dutch and the shocks work. Are the two things directly related? No, I'm sure there are some dutchmen that couldn't identify a shock absorber if you hit them over the head with it.

But in all seriousness, I believe the damper company Reiger is also Dutch. They make multiple adjustable, threaded, alloy bodied, reservoir shocks for many of the World Rally teams (as well as MANY other forms of motorsport). So maybe it is a "Dutch thing"??
To answer gunslinger's question; all of the racing shocks you've mentioned (it's Moton BTW, not Motron) are threaded, light/strong alloy bodied, nitrogen filled, precision internal component units, the vast majority of which are remote fluid reservoir (for cooling/extra capacity). All of this, and yes, the tech to make them reliably 4 way adjustable, conspires to make them exorbitant in price!

This is a great question with great timing. I just heard someone say they had Connie shocks. I just about busted out laughing, but thought...hmmm am I saying it wrong.
