ball joint removal on lower BMR control arms
Don't POST UNLESS YOU have first hand experience with removing these joints from these arms. I have replaced ball joints before and never had a problem removing them.
I purshased a set of hardly used lower control arms for my 2002 WS6 T/A along with my k-member. The parts are red and I am getting them re-powdercoated black. I seem to be having a problem getting the lower ball joints out of the arms. I have my pressure regulator set on 130 lbs and my Matco gun has 600 ft/lbs on reverse at that pressure. Using a standard c-clamp ball joint press.
Has anyone had this problem?

You will need more pressure to remove them. We install them with a press.

I just recently removed the ball joints from lower bmr arms but used a 20 ton press and they came out pretty easily. I will say that the cups that they went into were powdercoated. Not sure if they calculated the thickness of the powdercoat when making cup or not but this maybe why they are more difficult to remove. Not sure if this helps or not. I am debating whether to have the inside of the cups powdercoated when redoing them. I certainly do not want my balljoints loose in the cup.

I wouldn't think they would loosen in the cup, but......

I'm not too worried about it. I will have what shipping will cost in what I'm recoating them for.
I doubt they would redo them anyways. They are red and I want black.
