Default Is it Wheel Hop?

Ive got an 01 Trans Am that seems to be having a wheel hop problem as of lately. Whenever I get on it, and the tires bust loose it feels like the rear end is going to fall off. It like, "jumps" so to speak. As far as suspension mods go, I have Koni SA shocks, Strano Lowering kit, Spohn SFC's, Spohn PHB. What would be my best bet to help eliminate this, Would adjusting the shocks help at all? Im pretty sure the rear is set on as loose as it gets the fronts im not sure. Would new rear LCA's fix this? Any input is appreciated!

What type of torque arm would you guys recommend? I was looking at the UMI adjustable torque arm (transmisson mounted)

Is the chrome moly worth the extra 100 bucks?

And Im on Nitto 555's though the rears are like slicks.

relocation brackets are a must if your ride is lowered like you mentioned. You will notice a big difference. Id look into getting those and some good LCA. I have the boxed BMR ones on my ride and they feel real good.

www.ws6store.com talk to mike k. really cool guy and he'll hook u up with what u need the only thing i havent bought from them is my true duals cause they didnt sell any...

what kind of exhaust do you have and do you plan on changing it? some trq arms they sell depend on if u have true duals or a y-pipe setup and what kind of headers ur running. if ur putting down alot of power like im plannin on in the near future i got the trq arm relocation kit too which makes the trq arm body mounted and takes the stress off the trans. i went ahead with the chromoly thats really up to u the mild steel will work well unless ur really putting down an @$$ of power. i didnt really need it but i had the extra cash at the time so why the hell not lol. IMO UMI is the best and i havent heard any complaints Spohn is right there with them though.

I vote for the LCA relocation kit. I`ve had my car lowered in the past and had a similar problem. It`s amazing how effective this 80 dollar mod is. If you have the extra money some poly/rod control arms help out too.

Lots of things contribute to, and fixing wheel-hop. LCA's are the place to start. Cheaper and easier to install than a TA, and no roll-steer issues like relocation brackets. I picked the ones above because they don't bind in roll like all poly boxed or tubulars, and they are quieter and more streetable than full race double rod-ended ones.
