Question about brake fluid?

Question about brake fluid? Hope you can help me out. I know that DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid is compatible with our cars. Is the DOT 5 fluid compatible? My dealer tech said 3 or 4 only. I have a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Ws6 with a stock brake system now. I have new pads, rotors, and stainless lines ready to go in after a complete flush. Also how much brake fluid do I need to get to fill the system up?

^^^^ RIGHT!! DOT 5 is silicone based fluid. YOU WILL RUIN YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM IF YOU USE THIS!! The DOT 5.1 is fine, but I would flush the whole system thoroughly if you must use it.
Personally, I would just use one of the good DOT 3/4s available (there are MANY!!!).

Get some ATE super blue racing fluid, it seems to get a lot of praise around here.
