The brake fluid caught fire
This isn't a serious post, just an account of what happened this morning. Friend of mine, a knowital, was ribbing me for spending $13/pint for Motul brake fluid. He says, dry boiling point notwithstanding, it's all the same except some people just think they got to pay more. So he set out to prove his point. He put a couple ounces of Motul in a coffee can, heated it with a torch, and it boiled. At what temperature, we don't know. Then he put a couple ounces of CarQuest fluid, maybe $10/gallon, in the can and heated it. It didn't boil; it just burst into flame. Mind you, the torch never touched either fluid, just the can. I haven't the faintest idea what this proves, except that next Monday, when I hit the brakes at 130 mph at Watkins Glen I won't set my car on fire.
