Default battery relocation or light weight battery

i am wondering which option is better? i recently took out my spare tire and jack and now i am just wondering if the battery relocation is worth the hassle.

I did it. I used the BMR battery holder and then I switched to a bigger Optima red top battery. Its better for weight distribution, it cleared space that was needed for the intercooler outlet pipes and now I can jump start my car from the front or the rear.

Why did you relocate to the left rear instead of the right rear?

This might not be the best thing (except for an all-out race car) since you're starting with a "weaker" battery to begin with, and then you're dropping the current even more with VERY long cable runs (EVEN if you use 2 gauge wire!!).
The weight of the wires/box, etc. would probably outweigh just front mounting an Optima, plus you would lose the traction benefits of a "ballast" over the right rear wheel with the lightweight battery.

Why not locate battery in place of the T-Top holders? It's low, and you can choose either side (give or take). You can have it on the passenger side and keep your spare. Here's a good idea. Make it so that you have the wires and a mount down at the spare tire, but keep the battery under the hood. When you go racing, take out spare and move battery.
