Default brake washer c5 corvette?

I have all 4 brakes off my car. I rebuilt all 4 calipers and painted them red. My only problem is, I cant seem to find anyone that carries the copper washer that is one time use only to re-install them. Any ideas?

thanks,
Jeff

Any auto parts store, they haven't changed those washers for years. The application chart probably goes back 30+ years for the same exact part. I know they have a selection of these in the MotorMite Help parts section.

They do carry them you just have to find the right person to ask... They also sell them in the help section in a yellow package. They come with an assortment of sizes

if you remove the calipers, there is a copper washer that is one time use only that is crunched between those hose and the caliper. if you take the hoses off, you will need new crush copper washers. I think this should answer your question.

Have you been able to get the crush washers yet? I know I had trouble getting someone at Autozone to know what I was talking about even when I took the washer up there. They sell them loose and you can buy each washer seperate but most of those guys didn't have a clue.. I finally found one of the guys that knew exactly what I was talking about and took me to the box where they keep them in the back.

and if they're not too expensive, you can just stock up on a bunch of them now, so you never have to deal with the ignorance of the parts store clerks again....

I understand now...

It is a one-time use sealer washer that is under the banjo fitting on the caliper...

The only loose ones they had were not copper. they tried to sell me some bronze colored washers that would fit right but I dont think they would seal right. I passed and went and bought a pack from an out of town parts store.

IIRC, there should be a crush seal on both sides of the hose (caliper-side & bolt-head-side).
