Default Symptoms of worn torque arm?

Sometimes when I let off the gas or let off the brakes I can hear and feel a clunk from the rear. It also happens during low rpm shifts. Is that the torque arm or bushings wearing out? Or possibly my rear end? I changed fluid recently and the gears looked fine, though with no shredding or shards.

Torque arm bushing could be it, also check the transmission mount. They are more common to tear. If its a torque arm bushing we have them in stock for $14.99

Hope that helps!

+1 could be either of the mounts gone bad causing the sound you describe.

go ahead and try a new torque arm bushing, or better yet, just order a tunnel mount TA from UMI. it's great!

The most common cluncking noise that occurs when you let off the gas is casued by bad drive shaft U-joints. As said above, another common problem causing is is torn tranny mounts.

You can literally see if its a bad t/a mount by holding the brake and going from drive - to - reverse and back with a friend watching.

I have the same clunk sound when you get on the brakes. I also notice mine when tossing it in reverse and starting to let the clutch out. I replaced the tranny mount already, and I've put a new torque arm bushing in there too. I might have to get to a drive on lift and check it out with a buddy.
