Question Lowering Factory PS Rack

I have a new tubular K. I need all the clearance i can get for a downpipe.

what i need to do is lower my PS rack about an inch. i really dont know much about steering. my question is, by lowering my rack an inch, is that going to screw up my geometry? i dont know if it will bind stuff up or what. im assuming i will need a longer steering shaft, correct? how do i go about doing that? i am also assuming that this will push my tie-rods out a bit. i know my one tie-rod is maxed out. so if lowering DOES kick my tie-rods out, what do i do about getting shorter ones.

thanks guys

Lowering the steering rack is definitely not a good idea. It will change the bump steer geometry around in the front which you do no want to do.

For what its worth. I lowered mine the whole k member is lowerd about a half inch. I drive the car on the street and dont notice anything. Also i know my rack also sat lower after i put my k member in also cause i had to adjust the steering shaft to make it fit then k member over the stock one at the time. I have fully adjustable suspension and did the alingment and all is good. I dont know alot about suspension but i didnt see anything wrong or dont know why it would be horrible to do.
