Default Check out my $237 Hoosier 315's!!!! PICS!!!

Gotta sport the GM's

Next to my brothers z.

I purchased these no more than a week ago from the hoosier website. They look awsome, compared to my old worn down summitomos. These tires are worth the money, so far. They hook way better than my summis which are a given especially when the pavement is not too cold but when war traction is very predictable. They do make some road noise all the time, sounds like a space ship but overall they were at least and inch wider than the summis and look pretty good. Already got tow good kills with theses tires. Now lets see how long the last me.

arent those hoosiers the "wet" radials they list on their site that you mentioned in another thread?. The only drag radial (dry) tires i have seen from hoosier are completely bald looking tires, like autocross road race tires. Just curious, where they $237 for both or each? Thanks, they look great by the way, just hope they are for dry weather and they hook worth something, and last more than mickey's or BFG's.

Just noticed i posted this thread up on the wrong place but yeah, they are the wet Drag Radials by Hoosier. Hey, anything other than the bald summitomos the car is on right now is better by a long shot and for $237 for the pair shipped......well.....i couldn't be happier....well not untill i get them on my car and warm them up

Those are NOT dirt track tires. Those are Hoosier radial DOT wets.

I really hope you aren't running those as your street tires. The wets have a VERY soft tread compound, and will wear down very quickly. Also, any hard driving in the dry will cause them to over-heat rather fast. They are intended for road course/auto-x use in very wet conditions.

edit: Oh, these are not meant for drag racing BTW. The sidewall is a lot stiffer than a drag radial. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with them.

No **** the same thing they run on dirt. I run them on my dirt car. thats why they have such a soft compound to stick to the track once its packed not street. they will work but not long.

I wouldn't worry much about them for $237 shipped for the pair! I'm on my way to their site now.

EDIT: What's the part number?

EDIT AGAIN: I'm guessing they are these. SPORTS CAR D.O.T. RADIAL WET TIRES for $115 / tire. What's the speed rating on these?

Tight budget- $237 shipped for at least a decent tire or stick with bald summi's during the cold and rainy winter in cali. I use it only when i go back home on holidays or vacations from school and even though they might have a hard sidewall, i hope the soft compound will plant the power nicely...and i believe the rating on them was 130 Beaflag. Oh yeah and the same tire is running for $295 a piece on tirerack.

You run DOT Radials on the dirt track?

ill add what everyone else said.......these are NOT drag radials. they will wear down from normal driving faster then doing burnouts with your bald sumis. not to mention, theyre more then likely not best in the cold. theyll harden up and youll lose traction. you might be lucky in that aspect, being in CA. yeah they were cheap and a great tire, but not for daily driving. i think you might find youll wear these out in a matter of months, and be looking for another set of rears. for even less money, you would have been better off getting another set of $89 315 sumis.

They are NOT marketed as street tires. They are DOT legal, and also "not recommended for highway use".

Those are DOT Radial wets. I highly doubt you are running them on a dirt track, because the sidewalls are very stiff and the carcass is from the A/R3S03 series of DOT R-comps from around 2002. Those are not Dirt Stockers, which were also DOT legal tires, and were dirt tires, and some autoxers used them as rains prior to the Radial Wet coming out. There is no way the compound is the same on those as a DOT Dirt tire. I've had Dirt Stocker and those both, the Dirts are like sponge rubber, these are not. I'll touch on the compound again, being the "new" tire isn't even as soft as a Dirt Stocker.

They'll say "WET" on the side, they'll have a treadwear rating of around 40.

You should not be running them as street tires. You can, but you shouldn't be. They don't ride well. They have no steel belts in the tread cap area because they were meant to be light and run on a track or autox course so puncture resistance wasn't a design criteria. And if the temp is much below 55 degrees, they are hard as rocks. They will flat-spot when the car is parked on them, eventually they'll round out as the rubber warms.

To each his own. But these are NOT street tires.

FWIW, they are discontinued because Hoosier went to even softer compound this year for the Radial Wet, now called an H-wet.

Been running DOT R-comps and Hoosiers for a long time. I've gotten about 30 tires from them free over the last two years because of their SCCA Contingency Program. I won 8 more this year just @ Nationals plus a number of others through the year.
