T-tops Leaking

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

My '96 Lt-1 leaked on the passenger side. It was funny any time I had a passenger ride with me I would give them a towel to put on their right leg and they would give me the funniest look.
When I hit the brakes water would trinkle down the t-top and into the lap of my passenger.
I can't verify the procedure 100% because I'm in a thirdgen, but it should be pretty obvious once you pull the plastic pieces off.
It probably wouldn't hurt to check that the pins in your t-tops are coming out all of the way while your at it. Should probably throw some vaseline or wd-40 or whatever on them to get a nice seal. That's probably going to get them as good as they're ever going to be.
I have SFC's, had them on since 24K miles. I don't have any wind issues at all with my t-tops either, as I've gone over 135mph with no sounds, so I be very lucky!!!

Thanks for the response Formy! That is new news to me. I will sure give it a try. I guess SFC's are next cause if it never gets any worse I can certainly live with it. Been wantin to do SFC's since cold weather got here cause all of a sudden more it rattles more everywhere.
A note on SFC's. A very knowledgable sponsor on this board who I greatly respect verified something I had been told by some other folks. SFC's won't keep you from getting corner panel wrinkles that many of us think it will. . Think about it. Those wrinkles come in the QP BEHIND where the SFC's hook into the LCA'S so how could SFC's stop that from happening. They are not supporting that piece of the chassis directly. Makes sense to me. They do have other advantages and I will be installing a pair in the near future just to firm things up and hope for less door and T-top creak.
Thanks again formy, I will give it a try!

Oh well it's a labor of love.
