Default Lowering the car

How much does it cost to lower the car? I was thinking about lowering mine but it depends on the price. I have to get someone install because I have no experience.

Thanks Everyone

Are you serious??

Springs are around $300-350, shocks around $500-600, adjustable panhard bar $125-150, front end alignment $50-75. Hopefully, you, the owner, can do the labor (cause it's FUN), so it's around a grand, twelve hundred...

really depends on what shocks you get. even something like the bilsteins (which i think are still backordered) are not the ideal setup.

to get a truely well matched lowering setup...you need adjustable shocks like Koni....which are over $850 for a set.

springs $250
shocks $850
panhard $125
brackets $100

that's $1300 just for parts....plus a couple hundred for the alignment and labor, could easily push $1600-1700

Check my link. You do not need relocation brakets (not good for handling) and the Konis can be had for under $800 if you buy 3rd gen rears.

You're link doesn't have everything you need, relocation brackets are needed. The LCA's need to be angled down with the lowest point on the rear end, they won't server their purpose if people skimp on relocation brackets.

That is for drag racing^
This will induce more roll and hurt handling. If you are looking for a handling setup you do not want relocation brackets.

When you go into a corner, with the way our cars are set up from the factory the rear end will rotate along the axis of the LCAs and PHB and actually 'steer' the car in the opposite direction of the front wheels, which makes the rear very prone to sudden oversteer. This is called rollsteer... and its BAD. When the car is lowered without LCA relocation brackets, and the LCAs are pointing upward to the live rear axle in the rear this actually has a positive effect on the predictability of the car mid corner... this is GOOD.

If your drag racing alot, then yes you need LCA relocation brackets to "correct" the car's suspension geometry back to its factory setting to improve strait line traction. If your more concerned about cornering, don't get them.

edit: I have LCA relocation brackets, but i regret them

I'm planing on buying the kit from UMI with the strano parts. Bout $1700 with the options I want, and I plan on doing the labor myself. I read this link http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=6 adn this link http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=8 , which are very helpful and make it look like as long as you have some common sense you could do this install yourself. So all in I'd say about $1850 max for me with buying the spring comperssor and getting an alignment.

Don't relocation brackets have 2 settings usually?

I plan on getting Strano springs, Koni 4/4's, Umi adj, PHB, Strano sways.

I want to handle good, but I do race from a dig from time to time as well. I have a feeling no LCa brackets are going to hurt me. Can I instal the brackets and put the lcas on the middle setting instead of the lowest which would make it go like if it were in the same spot stock? Kind of a compromise?
