Default Brake Fluid Change?

Well my brake fluid looks like CRAP, so i guess its time for me to bleed/ change it. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good how to write up? a local Gm mechanic only wants like 25-30 bucks to do it, but if theres any way i can do it myself i would like to. My other question is how difficult would that be? I tried a search but didn't yield any vaild results...thanks in advance for any help offered.

Its pretty easy, but if your not sure 25 bucks is not a lot.

You need brake fluid and vaccume bleeder or another person there several good write ups on this too

If you dont mind someone else doing it, $25 -$30 is cheap.

yeh, $25 is dirt cheap but I wonder if they don't mearly suck out the old fluid from the reservour only ?

Bleeding requires you to open the bleeder caliper valves on all corners and pump or suck out the old fluid. This really takes an experienced mechanic at least one hour, so beware of the $25 cheap bleed since that is probably exactly what you will get.

This guy has been working on Gm cars for about 20 years, and around here he specializes in camaros/trans ams/vettes etc. hes a stand up guy as far as i can tell. i know when he was looking at it all he went to the four brakes , reservour, etc. I think ill take the 25, he normally does things for other car enthusiast for REALLY cheap, and ive never heard a bad thing about him thanks for all the responses!

When I worked at the dealer, I could do in about 20 minutes. We had a pressure bleeder, made it really really easy.

I bought a pressure bleeder and it is fast after you get the wheels off.
