Default Good setup?

I don't wanna go all out and spend a lot of money lowering my car cause I wanna do a lot more things to it. It's a DD. Is this a good setup for it? I would order springs only but I hear they ride bad.http://www.lmperformance.com/4329/1.html

That claims to only drop 1/2 inch, is that enough of a drop for you?
You would be better off buying a set of Koni 4/3's for $100 more at stranoparts.com, using the lower spring perch with stock springs in the front gives you a 3/4 in drop, and you can do the heater hose mod in the rear for about 1/2-3/4" drop. Your car will ride better with this setup while having more control.

Yea sounds good but 770 for shocks only when it's just a DD? I want shocks and springs that will give me at least an inch drop without going money crazy with koni's. Almost 1k seems too much to lower the car for me.

You get what you pay for. These shocks are not to lower the car, that's a bonus. They are the best dampers in that price range and b/c they are adjustable, can mate well to a large number of springs including lowering springs.

Shocks are the single weakest aspect of these cars and make the single biggest and best improvement you can make to these cars. Even the modest Bilsteins made as big an improvement in control AND comfort as the rest of my suspension mods combined. You are getting good advice here, you need to learn to listen. You won't find one person who doesn't like their Konis, unless they are going track only drag car.

If all you care about is lowering, cut your stock springs and see how "free" feels.

Thats actually the point. Shocks are what mainly effect ride, control, and feel. This is pretty much the perfect DD setup, your car will ride and handle like a BMW, it's sick.
I would suggest revalved bilstiens from stranoparts.com but bilstiens are on backorder right now.

Well the kit you posted has an advertised 1/2" drop, the Konis with stock springs on the lowering perch will give more of a drop than that, along with more control and a better ride. $1,000 is actually really cheap compared to other cars, good shocks alone for some cars are $2000+...

Hmm maybe I should just save some more and just buy the koni's. You guys sound pretty confident about these shocks. Any sponsors out there with a package of koni's and some good springs?

Not to hi-jack but, would Strano springs and KYB adjustables, lower and provide a better ride than stock? The wife said hell no on Konis, so that is the end of that story. Some of us just can't afford them :/ as good as they may be. Thanks

Call Sam himself, but I personally don't see KYB's with any lowering springs riding better than stock.
Buy the Konis and don't tell the wife
