cant remember the code number. all its states is ebcm malfunction

If your EBTCM is toast, pm me and ill send you to a site that can rebuild it for you and warrantee it for 5 years. Our cars share the same EBTCM as the cadillac cateras and the cateras are notorious for having that particular module die on them.

Oh yes, definitely consider this option if you cannot find a used, properly operating one for real cheap. Heck, I consider the 5 yr. warranty a big incentive just to do this alone.

When my EBTCM went out, the cheapest new part quote was in 2003 for 1600 USD. With labour, the total cost ranged from 1900 to 2400 USD (depedent on shop). It's probably higher now. Needless to say, I'm not one to readily throw away a simple malfunctioning part, let alone that much of money, especially in these economically challenging times.

Just my 2 cents.

Oh and they are very simple to change, its just 6 torx bolts and removing the harness from it and its off.
