Default Need a brake setup...

My stock rotors have started to warp and I would like to go ahead and replace the whole setup. What would yall recommend for mostly street use with occasional drag-strip and AutoX. I was looking at the StainlessSteel Brake setup. It looks to be a good price for what you get. Also, should I upgrade the disks and pads in the rear or leave them stock. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Brandon.

Adapt ZO6 front brakes ... lot more options with pads and rotors.

legitimate request ...

I will assume you are thinking of the 4 piston kit. From SSBC website ...

Will not fit stock wheels.

That alone should be reason enough ... I currently have a Prospeed 4 piston Brembo kit and regret ever installing it. Parts are hard to come by and I have to use adaptors and longer wheel studs to make stock offset wheels work.

Z06 brakes does a couple of things ... it gives you a larger rotor over stock F-Body and it gives you numerous rotor options, from the plain to the exotic.

The C5 calipers are pressure cast, ribbed for strength and therefore less prone to "spread" or flex, like F-Body calipers do under extreme duty.

And because it's a production based system, replacement parts are available at most chain parts houses and stock 17" rims fit without an issue.

Mitch, you still have a set of Z06 brakes "laying around"?

No ... I wish, though.

I'd then have Prospeed brakes laying around ... probably the worst move I've ever made ...

LG Motorsports.

They aren't on their website.
You'll need to call.

There are 3 pricing schedules, depending upon what you want replaced ... you can keep your calipers, pads and lines or you can mix and match.

Range in price from $499 to $799 for the fronts, as I recall ...
