slots or cross drilled?
For performance? Neither...

and why please.
With modern brake pad compounds, it is not necessary. The slots and holes give a rotor a place for cracks to start. If you are in it for looks, I'd stick to slotted, they are more resistant to cracking than drilled rotors are. Both types seem to accelerate brake pad wear....

it's a daily driver with ocassional visit to the track.
Then still neither....

What are the weight differences compared to stock?
It will be a matter of ounces.

Just my thoughts....

No problem. Everyone has opinions on this one...

I like my Brembo OEM rotors. $61 each from www.tirerack.com

I bought Bendix rotors from Larry at www.carbotecheng.com for the rear for about $55 each.

Hope that may help....

Rule of thumb: Trackbird HATES slots/holes, and for good reason. It is true that with modern day pads, gasses dont build like they used to, and dust isnt that big of an issue.

Another rule: drilling holes in anything doesnt make them stronger, only weaker. Now, if they are cast into the mold, thats different. And the weight difference isnt enough to worry about (and a ram-air LS1 isnt going to care about an extra ounce or two).

I am getting some for the look, and if they do crack, Ill get more. I keep the economy rolling!

I just replaced my first set of brembo rotors. My Race pads ate them....but those pads will eat anything...but they never warped and I got them HOT! THey work great for me...

one thing for weight is the bear eradispeeds, i think they save 10-20 lbs. up front, from what i've heard.

That would make them 5-10 lbs lighter per rotor. I've never weighed a set, but I would have a hard time believing that they are even 5 lbs lighter per side....but maybe. (Stock rotors are just about 20 lbs each).

Your wallet will be much lighter than that after buying a set of eradispeeds....

yeah they are expensive. The lighter ones are up front, they use an aluminum hub, and are 2 piece. Only heard the weight from vendors, the rears are solid. Thought about eradispeeds up front and some power stops in the back.
