I've cut my springs over a year ago 1 1/2 coils in the front and one in the rear. Doesn't ride any different than stock imo. Like posted above I'm sure it isn't the best setup for any type of roadracing but for daily driving I don't have any complaints and I still managed a 1.53 60ft at the strip.

Default Drop coils...

Im in the process of raising my car back to the stock height because im sick of it be so damn low. LT's and ory + lowered f-body just sucks for daily driving where im at. I bought a set of stock front springs just need the rear springs. Ill swap you or make you a deal if your interested. PM if you are..

As far as I know springrate actually appears to increase when you remove the amount of active coils.

Since springs are thankfully one of the cheaper modifications on our cars though and there's probably a hell of a lot more to spring design than I know, I would never mess with cutting the springs personally. Then again I care about the rate of the spring and getting a specific consistent ride height as well, so off the shelf springs are only what I'd go for.

i cut 1 coil on the front the rears had 190k on them so they were saggy enough, looks damn good and rides like stock, the only downside was that i couldnt align it! it doesnt have enough room for adjustment, my camber split was at 2* and that was without setting the toe i didnt have enough and wore my tires out in like a month, but other than that go for it if you can get someone to algin it... i work as a tech at a dealership and i nor anyone in the shop would get it within specs

if you heat the springs they will colapse after time...use a cut off wheel. springs are really cheap anyways save about $200 get some used springs off here from someone..

Cut springs here...but only to match the valving on my shocks, just do it with a cutting wheel and no heat...and yes the spring rate increases with each coil cut
