Default Important question...

What is that piece of metal that goes across your exhaust system right after the Y pipe turns into 1.... my exhaust is rattling on that after the headers... whats that metal piece do... and what would happen if I removed it

Its a tunnel brace, and you can tell just by looking at it that you could make a better brace out of newspaper and elmers glue. Remove it, put it on a shelf, and forget about it. Maybe someday you will buy a new tunnel brace with a driveshaft loop or something but you don't really need the stock one.

The idea is that it makes the chassis a little stiffer, but that thing is so weak it doesn't really do anything other than provide a place to mount a driveshaft loop
