Default What control arms to buy? Need advice!!

Well considering that my 60 foot times are embarassing, it is time to finish up my rear suspension... my current setup is..

-Qa1 adjustable front and rear shocks and springs
-BMR torque arm
-BMR panhard bar
-BMR weld in subframe connectors

I would like to get some rear control arms, but there are many choices. Boxed, tubular, adjustable, chromoly, BMR, Spohn etc etc

what would you guys reccomend?

I've got UMI tubular non-adjustable and my brother has BMR tubular non-adjustable. Both are good products.

truely they are all damn near the same. bmr spohn umi. poly/poly and not to much different about them. not like a torque arm. LCA you can realy only build one way. you have BMR stuff. buy that. just figure out if you want poly poly. rod rod. or there new aluminum.

on a side not i have DKT Aluminum LCA. rod/rod. work great. had them about a rear. no problems yet.

kny3twalker- why do you recommend adjustable LCA's? I'm wanting a set for my car too and have read people saying to get fixed. What is the gain with adjustable?

If your car is lowered or if you plan to change the geometry angle of the LCA you want the adjustables so you can center the wheel on the wheel well. A lot of drag racers run LCA brackets and put the LCA on the lower mounting hole. On a non adjustable setup this will pull the rear a bit forward inside the wheel well.

BMR or UMI great products and if you get bushing ended adjustables you will not have any noise issues, what about BMR or Sam sway bars?

BMR and UMI are top 2. If you daily drive your car i wouldn't recommend a rod/rod ended LCA. I have had my rod/rod LCA for almost 6 months and they annoy the hell out of me. If i could do it over again i would get the poly/rod setup. I have UMI and BMR suspension components and like both. And i recommend getting adjustable LCA as well. Unless you are 100% sure your never going to continue modding (which no one is wit our cars) then the non adjustable's are fine. Being able to adjust them is key once you lower it or change the geometry like stated earlier to gain better traction.

I have a poly/poly setup but I wish I went poly/rod for the ability to make rear end adjustments. I would recommend an adjustable arm if you are going to run relocation brackets.

I would recommend a poly/rod adjustable setup. The poly end quiets the control arms, and the rod end gains articulation. If this is a race-only car, I would go rod-rod for maximum articulation. Poly/poly has too much bind for our cars and inhibits articulation.
For a race car, go double adjustable for ease of adjustment at the track. Otherwise, go single adjustable.
You will always want adjustable, so you can get a true 4 wheel alignment and both rear wheels will be the same distance from its respective front wheel.

Thumbs up A suggestion for you!

Hello
A lower control arm relocation brackets were designed to eliminate wheel hop and increase traction performance! There are two versions of brackets that you can choose from either welded or bolted. They mount to your rear end and allows you to adjust your control arms more parallel with the surface and allows you to get better traction and eliminates your wheel hop! When a customer calls and is asking about traction issues we recommend the lower control arm relocation brackets for either a Street Car or a all out Drag Car....Hands down they are the best bang for the $. And they can even be used with stock lower control arms! If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help! Below is a link to show you what we have to offer.

Thanks Again

They are brackets that move your factory lower control arm mounts (on the axle side) down to improve the angle on the arm.

If you are experiencing excessive wheel hop or have lowered your car they would be a good option to look at. Basically they keep the car from squatting in the rear and absorbing the weight transfer force and put it to the rear axle effectively improving traction.
