Default tubular crossmember owners chim in!

ok so i just recently put a tubular crossmember in my car. and it rained the other day i went threw a puddle and had to replace my alternator. does anyone else have this problem? im thinking of building a shield for it since it is rather exposed. any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

Dont drive through the rain. I guess that is the only suggestion i got for you, I hate driving in the rain with my car.
