? about replacing front struts

Arrow ? about replacing front struts

So I'm changing out the front struts in my camaro and can't figure out how to remove the torq bolt in the picture below. I tried a search and, didn't really come up with anything. I'd assume you guys have some kind of trick? Thanks for the help.

Yea basically you can unbolt the master cylinder and move it a little bit so you can get a torx in there.

Once you get the Torx bolts out, swap sides with the hex bolts on the passenger side.

Next time, it's a heckuva lot easier ..

Ok, Stumped again... I took the black boot off the top of the strut to only find that there is some piece of metal blocking the lower strut. Can this piece of metal be removed without damage to the strut?? What I'm doing here is installing ground control coil overs, and the coil will not slide over this metal piece. I need to remove the plastic perch below anyways. Picture attached.

All good, got it off. I just don't know the internals of the struts and didn't want to screw anything over. Mods may delete if they need.
