i'd like to get this set-up eventually. i'm about to be in college though and i still have a car payment, so mods are about to slow down for me
i don't think i've ever heard anything about how the shocks affect 1/4 mile times though. i know lowering spring will decrease launching ability, but how about the shocks?

With the Koni Yellows Since the shocks are adjustable all you will need for a drag setup is take the front sway bar off, set the fronts to full soft, and leave the rears as they are and you will have a decent strip setup.

Depends on the car, the track, etc. While not meant to be "drag shocks", we did have a case where a car (that's fast) cut a 1.50 on Koni's vs. his previous best of 1.58's on a QA1/Afco combination. He was willing to accept a .1 hit in 60', but he launched better.
FWIW.

I wouldnt say overkill, I installed just the rear strano springs in place of my old eibachs and the difference was huge, my car rode really rough and was too low to even go over a speed bump. Now it rides great and is the perfect height, and I havent even done the front springs or the shocks/struts yet.
If its tough to spend that kind of money, like it is for most people just do it slowly, buy the springs, then the front struts and then the rear. In the end you will be glad you did.

I just received my set of Koni's. I did not get the springs this time. I was thinking about setting the front on the lower setting and doing the hose mod on the rear. Should I wait and get the springs? My car is a D/D with SLP headers and do not want it to be too low.

I would always rather overkill than not. Because later down the road who knows what you will end up doing so might as well be prepared for the worst. Its like upgrading to better brake pads rather than leaving normal AC delco or whatever ones on there, they work fine so why not leave them. Its like modding your car in any way really, is most of it overkill? Yes but that doesn't mean it doesn't make the car better and more fun to drive everyday
