Default Brake Pads Dragging

What is the number one cause of front pads dragging on rotors (stock brakes)? Wheel takes two hands to turn when up in the air.

Both front's are dragging bad. I can push in the pistons and wheel spins like a bike tire, but after pumping pedal, it goes back to dragging. ABS inop light and Brake light was on about week ago but hasn't come on since.

Any help on diagnosing or info on what are the most popular causes is appreciated.

I imagine it's either:

MC piston stuck
Caliper pistons stuck
Bad Fluid
Collapsed rubber lines
ABS Issue

The first thing i would check is the caliper slides. They are very common to rust. I know from personal experience. It could also be a caliper issue. I wouldn't think that it would be ABS or MC.

X2..check those sliding caliper pins.

I had the same thing. One wheel that wouldn't spin after the install because of the sliding caliper pin.

well, greased caliper pins, worked caliper pistons w/ c-clamp, changed brake line, and bled and still dragging.

Anyone else want to chime in b4 I purchase new caliper?

Make sure their isn't any rust or brake dust build up between the rotor and the hub....I'm leaning towards a Caliper needing rebuilt though.

Sounds like new caliper time. I think someone mentioned Napa or somebody has a whole assembly for around $60.

Picked up 2 rebuilt calipers today. 40 each with core. Solved the problem. Wheels spin nice and easy now.
