Caliper / bracket colors....just an idea
Black Z28, painting the brake calipers, but I thought I would do something a little different. Calipers are going black, but thought that I might paint the brackets either silver or red. BTW, new slotted/drilled rotors going on, along with Hawk HPS. Flushing the system, so might as well do some "attention to detail" while I got her up on jack stands and such.
Red might be a good breakup and matches the red bowtie in the back by the Z28 emblem.
Silver might be good as it stays well with black, breaks up the scheme, but subtly, not like red.
Any opinions? I know it will come down to what I think, but you never know what kind of an idea you might get if you don't throw it out there.
Thanks all!

Be prepaired for a lot of work regardless of color, and remember black shows imperfections more than any other color.
I painted mine calipers and brackets this winter. It took my 2 months because I wet sanded the primer and then the color coat. When they were done, they looked just as good as the body paint. However, after changing wheels a few times, and doing a little bit of brake work, they got all chipped up. So no, I'll never do this again.

Clemson, yea, it was alot of work. I spent all winter on them, and I don't think I'd do it again because the paint has not held up. But then again, I autocross the car and the wheels are on and off it frequently, which is probably where most of the paint damage has come from.

when i painted my engine bay last year, i put the car in the air, tapped everything off, and hit my calipers and brackets with high heat primer, then base/clear with automotive paint with a HVLP gun. after 1.5 years, they stiill look brand new, and are glossy just like the exterior paint. this paint looks SO much better than rattle can stuff and the brush on caliper paint that parts stores sell. i say do the whole thing silver! but im biased...
